An Cathaoirleach An Cathaoirleach
An Cathaoirleach: I have notice from Senator Liam Twomey that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:
The need for the Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food to clarify when compensation will be paid to the owner of the fishing vessel Morgensonne, as he is incurring significant costs in having the boat tied up.
I have also received notice from Senator David Norris of the following matter:
The need for the Minister for Finance to use the flexibility allowed under section 8 of the Financial Emergency Measures in the Public Interest Act 2009 to recognise the serious anomalies and injustices perpetrated by subjecting university research workers, in particular those in receipt of funds under the Health Research Board post-doctoral research fellowship scheme, to the pensions levy.
I have also received notice from Senator Paul Bradford of the following matter:
The need for the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government to review the decision to refuse a voluntary housing grant application lodged by Castlelyons Community Council, County Cork.
I have also received notice from Senator Joe O’Reilly of the following matter:
The need for the Minister for Education and Science to make a statement on the proposed removal of the special class from St. Anne’s primary school, Bailieborough, County Cavan.
I have also received notice from Senator Nicky McFadden of the following matter:
The need for the Minister for Health and Children to ensure dermatology services at Mullingar General Hospital remain for the people of Longford and Westmeath.
I regard the matters raised by the Senators as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected Senators Twomey, Norris and Bradford and they will be taken at the conclusion of business. The other Senators may give notice on another day of the matters they wish to raise.
