An Cathaoirleach An Cathaoirleach
An Cathaoirleach: I have notice from Senator Ross that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:
The need for the Minister for Health to make extra funding available through the Eastern Health Board for Wicklow Community Services.
I also received notice from Senator B. Ryan of the following matter:
The need for the Minister for Social Welfare to clarify, in the light of recent reports, the interpretation by his Department of the requirement that recipients of unemployment assistance and unemployment benefit be genuinely seeking work.
I also received notice from Senator Norris of the following matter:
The need for the Minister for the Environment to accede to the expressed wishes of Seanad Éireann and Dublin Corporation by making a substantial cash grant from lottery funding for the rebuilding of the Hirschfeld Centre in Dublin.
I also received notice from Senator Jackman of the following matter: The need for the Minister for Education to abandon his plans to apply means testing to the ESF maintenance grants.
I also received notice from Senator Costello of the following matter:
The need for the Minister for Education to rescind the decision to means test ESF grants for students enrolling in the regional technical colleges and Dublin Institute of Technology colleges.
I regard the matters raised by Senators Ross, Ryan, Norris, Jackman and Costello as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected Senator Ross' matter and it will be taken at the conclusion of business. Senators Norris, Ryan, Jackman and Costello may give notice on another day of the matters they wish to raise.
