Seanad Éireann - Volume 128 - 15 March, 1991

Order of Business.

Mr. Fallon: The Order of Business for [230] today is items Nos. 3 and 4. When the Order of Business for today is agreed there will be statements on the release of the Birmingham Six. It has been suggested and agreed that it will be one speaker from each group, not to exceed five minutes.

Mr. Manning: I thank the Leader of the House once again for responding — it was not a request, he felt it was appropriate also — and I am glad he has shown flexibility in this. May I ask whether it is intended to sit during Holy Week?

Mr. Fallon: The intention was not to sit. We had hoped to finish our business in the week ahead but unfortunately we will not have the Social Welfare Bill in time to take it next week, even on Friday. Therefore, we are proposing to sit on Tuesday of Holy Week, subject to agreement among the Whips.

Order of Business agreed to.
