Seanad Éireann - Volume 114 - 23 October, 1986

Order of Business.

Mr. Ferris: It is proposed to take Nos. 1, 2 and 3 as before us and it has been agreed to take Nos. 1 and 2 together. It is proposed to adjourn for lunch from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.

Mr. Ross: Is it the intention of the Government to take the Bill for the abolition of capital punishment during their lifetime? I am asking this for the 25th [798] time. I am not asking the Leader of the House to give us a prediction on the lifetime of the Government but I am asking him whether it is their intention to abolish capital punishment during their term of office or whether a Bill to do so is being put on the long finger again.

Mr. Daly: November 12 months.

Mr. Ferris: The answer is yes.

Order of Business agreed to.
