Deputy James Reilly Deputy James Reilly
Deputy James Reilly asked the Minister for Health and Children if she is satisfied with the accounting systems and the financial arrangements in the National Rehabilitation Hospitals, Dublin, both at Clontarf and in Dun Laoghaire, in view of a communication (details supplied); and if she will make a statement on the matter. Deputy Mary Harney Deputy Mary Harney
Deputy Mary Harney:The agency referred to by the Deputy is a voluntary body, therefore, it is a matter in the first instance for the Board of the agency to ensure that it complies with proper standards of governance, including any matters relating to its financial management. The agency concerned is funded by the Health Service Executive and as such is obliged to comply with terms and conditions set out by the Executive in respect of a range of issues including the management of its finances. I have therefore requested the Executive to investigate the issues raised by the Deputy with a view to ensuring that the agency complies with its financial obligations.
