  Deputy Seán Haughey: A reply to the Deputy’s previous correspondence has been finalised and will be issued shortly. The Transport Liaison Officer for the county in question has advised that the pupil referred to by the Deputy, in the details supplied, resides 0.7 kilometres from the post primary centre in her catchment area.

[194] Under the terms of my Department’s Post Primary School Transport Scheme, a pupil is eligible for transport if s/he resides 4.8 kilometres or more from her/his local post primary education centre. As the pupil concerned is not eligible for school transport the question of financial assistance does not arise.
