Deputy Pat Breen asked the Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will clarify the situation regarding REP scheme four; his plans to phase in payments in line with his recent decision on the farm waste management scheme; if funding is available in the long-term for this scheme; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Deputy Brendan Smith: My Department’s Vote for 2009 includes a provision of €355 million for REPS. I have previously indicated my intention to make REPS available to farmers as a scheme that meets environmental imperatives and consumer demands for environmentally-friendly food production.
