Deputy Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin asked the Minister for Education and Science if his attention has been drawn to the conditions at a school (details supplied) in Dublin 22; his views on whether it is acceptable that boys and girls in sixth class are forced to share a toilet; if he will ensure that funding is provided; and if he will make a statement on the matter.   Deputy Batt O’Keeffe: The Department is keenly aware of the need to provide a permanent building for the school to which the Deputy refers. In this regard, agreement has been reached to provide permanent accommodation for the school on a V.E.C. owned site. The progression of all large scale building projects, including this project, from initial design stage through to construction phase will be considered in the context of my Department’s multi-annual School Building and Modernisation Programme. However, in light of current competing demands on the capital budget of the Department, it is not possible to give an indicative timeframe for the progression of the project at this time.

Deputy Deirdre Clune asked the Minister for Education and Science the status of an application for an extension by a school (details supplied) in County Cork; when a final decision will be made; when work will commence; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [35160/08]
