Deputy Michael Creed asked the Minister for Education and Science the situation regarding a proposed new school for a school (details supplied) in County Cork; if a site has been secured for this new school; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [18845/08]

Deputy Batt O’Keeffe: The Office of Public Works (OPW), which acts on behalf of my Department in relation to site acquisitions generally, has been asked to source a suitable site for the school in question. The OPW have recently submitted a technical report on a number of proposals and an assessment of these proposals is currently with my Department for consideration and further instruction to the OPW.
