Deputy Arthur Morgan asked the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government the targets that have been set for reducing carbon emissions from electricity generating stations; and if they will be met. [34763/07]

  Deputy John Gormley: I have no function in relation to the matter raised in the Question. Pursuant to the European Communities (Greenhouse Gas Emissions Trading) Regulations 2004, the Environmental Protection Agency determines and oversees the greenhouse gas emission caps for installations, including electricity generating stations, participating in the EU Emissions Trading Scheme.
