Deputy Fergus O’Dowd asked the Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources if any of the advisers or staff appointed by him directly have mobile phones and other equipment supplied by his Department; the annual cost of same since 1997 to date in 2007; and if he will make a statement on the matter.   Deputy Eamon Ryan: The following material relates to the period since my appointment as Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources on 14 June 2007. A number of my advisors have been assigned mobile phones or Blackberries for use in the course of carrying out their official duties. The total cost incurred for this is €1,213.96 since their appointment.
