  Deputy Noel Dempsey:Ireland is a contracting party to the Convention on International Civil Aviation (the Chicago Convention). Representatives from Ireland attend meetings and participate in various working groups within the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO), which was established by the Convention, on an ongoing basis. Officials from my Department recently attended the triennial assembly of ICAO at which many aspects of the regulation of civil aviation were discussed.
