[1622] Deputy Olivia Mitchell asked the Minister for Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs the funding allocated under Scéim na mBóithre Áise on a Gaeltacht area basis in 2006 and to date in 2007; the estimated budget for this scheme in 2007; and if he will make a statement on the matter.   Deputy Éamon Ó Cuív: Grants totalling €1,944,908 were approved by my Department under Scéim na mBóithre Áise sa Ghaeltacht (the Gaeltacht Accommodation Roads Scheme) in 2006 and 2007. Details of the funding allocated on a county basis are set out in the Table below.

The allocation of almost €570,000 to Scéim na mBoithre Áise in 2007 to date has been made from an overall budget of €4.965m for Gaeltacht road improvements in my Department’s 2007 Vote, the remainder being utilised for improvement works to strategic Gaeltacht roads (bóithre straitéiseacha) and various village renewal projects.
