Deputy Éamon Ó Cuív Deputy Éamon Ó Cuív
Deputy Éamon Ó Cuív: A review of Scéim Labhairt na Gaeilge was carried out in the context of modern day needs and recommendations arising from that review are under consideration at present. The matter is being examined in the overall context of the recently completed study on Irish language usage in the Gaeltacht, which was conducted on behalf of my Department by Acadamh na hOllscolaíochta Gaeilge, University of Ireland, Galway, in conjunction with the National Institute for Regional and Spatial Analysis, University of Ireland, Maynooth. A Report arising from that study is being examined by my Department at present and will be presented to Government in due course. I do not anticipate making any decisions in relation to amendments to Scéim Labhairt na Gaeilge until that process is completed.
