Deputy Tony Gregory asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if Council Directive 93/15/EEC of 5 April 1993 is being adhered to in full; and if not, the reasons for same. [20485/07]

Deputy Brian Lenihan:Council Directive 93/15/EEC (with the exceptions of Articles 10 and 11) on the harmonisation of the provisions relating to the placing on the market and supervision of explosives for civil uses was given effect by Statutory Instrument. The relevant S.I. is No. 115 of 1995 — European Communities (Placing on the Market and Supervision of Explosives for Civil Uses) Regulations, 1995.
The requirements of Articles 10 and 11 (which deal with transfers of ammunition) are provided for in Statutory Instrument No. 362 of 1993 — European Communities (Acquisition and Possession of Weapons and Ammunition) Regulations, 1993 — which gives effect to Council Directive 91/477/EEC on the control of the acquisition and possession of weapons.
