Deputy Michael D. Higgins asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the position of an application for leave to remain in the State by a person (details supplied). [20200/07]

  Deputy Brian Lenihan:I have been informed by the Immigration Division of my Department [577] that an application for permission to remain in the State was received in June 2007 from the person referred to by the Deputy. I understand that the Immigration Division will be in contact with the person concerned shortly with a decision in the matter.
