Mr. Pattison asked the Minister for Health and Children the status of the recruitment process of the 32 elder abuse officials or care workers following publication of the report into the deaths at Leas Cross; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [41459/06]

  Mr. S. Power: The recruitment process referred to is a function of the Health Service Executive (HSE), which has informed my Department that the process to fill these posts is proceeding. The closing date for applications was 6th October, 2006 and the HSE intend to commence interviews next week.
