Dáil Éireann - Volume 628 - 22 November, 2006 Written Answers. - Hospital Charges. Mr. Bruton Mr. Bruton Mr. Bruton asked the Minister for Health and Children the charges which will apply in 2007 at public hospitals for attending accident and emergency or outpatients, for staying a night in a public ward, for staying in a semi-private bed and for staying in a private bed. [39689/06] Ms Harney Ms Harney Ms Harney: The statutory inpatient and outpatient charges will remain unchanged in 2007. In-patient charges will remain at €60 per day up to a maximum of 10 days [€600] payment in any 12-month period. The outpatient charge will remain at €60 for any visit to a designated accident and emergency facility if attendance is not accompanied by a letter of referral from a GP. I am considering the level of increase in charges for private and semi-private beds in public hospitals and will make an announcement on that shortly. Dáil Éireann 628 Written Answers.
