Mr. N. O’Keeffe asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform when a new Garda station will be developed in a location (details supplied) in County Cork. [33735/06]

  Mr. McDowell: I have been informed by the Garda authorities that there are plans to build a new Garda station in Carrigtwohill, Co. Cork. A Brief of Requirements is being prepared which will be forwarded to the Office of Public Works when it is completed. While it is not possible for me to indicate a commencement date for the construction of the proposed new station at this point in time, I can, however, assure the Deputy that there will be no avoidable delay in addressing the accommodation needs of the Gardaí in Carrigtwohill.
