Written Answers. - Site Acquisitions.

Ms O’Sullivan asked the Minister for Finance if issues regarding the proposed site for a school (details supplied) in County Limerick have been clarified to the satisfaction of the Office of Public Works; if he expects the purchase of the site to go ahead in 2006; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [25940/06]

Mr. Parlon: The Commissioners of Public Works act as agents on behalf of the Department of Education & Science in the acquisition of sites for new school facilities.

There are currently two sites, which are being considered as a possible location for the school in question. Both sites were recently assessed from a technical and planning perspective and the [1777] reports were forwarded to the Department of Education & Science last week. The Department have requested further clarification on a number of points raised in the reports and we are in the process of addressing these. It is the Departments expectation that once they receive these clarifications that progress will be made in respect of this acquisition.
