  Mr. McDowell:I am informed by the Garda authorities that there are plans to refurbish and extend Youghal Garda station to bring it up to the status of an area headquarters station. In the meantime, the Office of Public Works is prepar[966] ing a tender specification to invite tenders for approved remedial works to be carried out at the station. This forms part of an ambitious national Garda building programme which has already resulted in many Garda stations being modernised and many more at various stages of being modernised.
