56. Ms Enright asked the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment if the Irish Council for Science, Technology and Innovation will produce an annual report on the state of science education here; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12949/05]

Mr. Martin: The outgoing Irish Council for Science, Technology and Innovation, ICSTI, held its final plenary meeting in November 2004. ICSTI has been succeeded by a new advisory science council. The new council held its first meeting on 18 May and is preparing its annual work programme. I am arranging to bring the Deputy’s views to the attention of the council in that context.
