Mr. Kenny asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Health and Children the amount of Exchequer funding provided to mental health services for 2005; the increase given in 2005 in comparison to 2004; the allocation of the total funding; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [12292/05] Mr. T. O’Malley Mr. T. O’Malley Mr. T. O’Malley: In 2004 expenditure on mental health services was €716 million. In 2005 the estimate for spending on mental health services as set out in the Health Service Executive Vote in the recently published Revised Estimates for Public Services 2005 is €766 million. This equates to 7.1% of the total current Health Service Executive funding of €10.975 billion when account is taken of a once-off technical provision of €217 million arising from the establishment of that Vote. The Health Service Executive’s service plan for 2005 indicates how the total funding for mental health services is to be allocated. Dáil Éireann 600 Written Answers. Mental Health Services.
