Mr. Gilmore asked the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government, further to Question No. 2 of 4 November 2004, the breakdown by local authority area of the 209 affordable houses and the 106 social units acquired by local authorities under Part V of the Planning and Development Act 2000; and if he will make a statement on the matter. All moneys received under a Part V agreement by a planning authority must be lodged to a separate account and may only be used as capital for its functions under Part V or in relation to the provision of housing under the Housing Acts 1966 to 2002.

Mr. Gilmore asked the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government, the breakdown by local authority area of the 80,000 houses in respect of which planning permission was released by the Government in 2002 as a result of the decision not to implement the 20% requirement for social and affordable housing; and if he will make a statement on the matter.   Mr. Roche: Annual planning statistics are published by my Department which provide information on the number of planning applications granted each year etc. by local authority area. However, the statistics do [843] not contain the detailed information sought in the question.
