  151. Mr. F. McGrath asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Health and Children if more funding will be allocated for the accident and emergency departments in hospitals. [28435/04]

  Ms Harney: I have previously said that the delivery of accident and emergency services will be an area for particular attention during my term as Minister for Health and Children. I intend to identify the particular pressure points within the health system that affect the efficient delivery of emergency services and to address them in the context of the Estimates process.

  152. Mr. Ring asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Health and Children if a person (details supplied) in County Mayo is on a waiting list for a cataract operation; if so, the length of time they have been on the list; and when they can expect to be called. [28447/04]

  Ms Harney: The provision of hospital services for people living in County Mayo is a matter for the Western Health Board. My Department has asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the position in regard to this case and to reply directly to the Deputy.
