Dáil Éireann - Volume 592 - 09 November, 2004 Written Answers. - Teaching Qualifications. Mr. McGuinness Mr. McGuinness 272 342. Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Education and Science if a decision will be expedited in the case of a person (details [272] supplied) in County Kilkenny; the reasons for the delay in registering this person as a secondary school teacher; if all pay issues relating to the case will be resolved; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [27938/04] Ms Hanafin Ms Hanafin Ms Hanafin: The Registration Council is the statutory body responsible for the recognition of qualifications for the purpose of teaching in voluntary secondary schools. The delay in registering the teacher in question was due to the omission by the applicant of relevant information and documentation in her initial application. This information was required by the council to process the application. In light of the decision of the council on the qualifications of the person referred to by the Deputy, my Department is satisfied that she is qualified for the post to which she has been appointed. Arrangements have therefore been made to make any necessary adjustments to her salary. Dáil Éireann 592 Written Answers. Teaching Qualifications. Questions 20041109
