O’Keeffe asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform his views on the proposal that nightclub owners and retailers should pay for the cost of putting extra gardaí outside their premises to combat late night street crime; and if he will make a statement on the matter.   Mr. McDowell: I have been informed by the Garda authorities who are responsible for the detailed allocation of resources, including personnel, that the possibility of nightclub owners and retailers contributing to the cost of putting extra gardaí outside their premises to combat late night street crime is being considered by a working group set up under the chairmanship of an assistant commissioner.
