  148. Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will provide funding for a treatment (details supplied); and the reason it is not available here. [16009/04]

  Mr. Martin: My Department is advised that the Eastern Regional Health Authority has received a proposal from Beaumont Hospital to develop the service. The authority will consider the proposal in the context of available resources.

  149. Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Health and Children when speech therapy will be offered [1071] to a person (details supplied) in County Kildare. [16023/04]

  Mr. T. O’Malley: The provision of health services, including speech and language therapy, to people with physical or sensory disabilities is a matter for the ERHA and the health boards, in the first instance. My Department has asked the authority’s CEO to investigate the matter and to reply directly to the Deputy, as a matter of urgency.

  150. Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Health and Children when respite care at Maynooth Community Hospital, Maynooth, County Kildare will be provided for a person (details supplied). [16024/04]

  Mr. Callely: The provision of health services in the Kildare area is, in the first instance, the responsibility of the Southern Western Area Health Board. It acts under the aegis of the ERHA. My Department has asked the authority’s CEO to investigate the matter and to reply directly to the Deputy, as a matter of urgency.
