  582. Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children if a three year medical card will be issued to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny in view of the evidence of their condition submitted; and if the application will be expedited. [11690/04]

  Mr. Martin: Responsibility for the provision of a medical card is, by legislation, a matter for the chief executive officer of the relevant health authority. My Department has therefore asked the chief executive of the South Eastern Health Board to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and to reply to him directly.
