  307. Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will be called for a hip replacement operation. [7563/04]

  Mr. Martin:The provision of hospital services for people living in County Mayo is a matter for the Western Health Board. My Department has, therefore, asked the chief executive officer of the board to reply directly to the Deputy in relation to the matter raised.

  308. Mr. Crowe asked the Minister for Health and Children if his attention has been drawn to any review being carried out in the accident and emergency unit of Tallaght Hospital, in view of difficulties being experienced recently by a meningitis patient. [7592/04]

  Mr. Martin:Responsibility for the funding of services at the Adelaide and Meath Hospital incorporating the National Children’s Hospital at Tallaght rests with the Eastern Regional Health Authority. My Department has therefore asked the regional chief executive of the authority to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and to reply to him directly.
