Aengus Ó Snodaigh asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if his attention has been drawn to the actions of Miltown Malbay settled residents who prevented a Traveller family whose caravan had burned down from moving into emergency accommodation; and the actions which will be taken by his Department or the gardaí in this case.   Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform (Mr. McDowell):I am aware of reports of the events referred to by the Deputy.

  I have had enquiries made with the Garda authorities and I am informed that no complaint has been made to the gardaí by any of the parties involved, and that, to date, the gardaí have had no involvement in this matter.
