Mr. Neville asked the Minister for Education and Science when a resource teacher will be appointed for a person (details supplied) in County Limerick. [22230/03] Mr. N. Dempsey Mr. N. Dempsey Minister for Education and Science (Mr. N. Dempsey): I am pleased to inform the Deputy that following receipt of a report from the National Educational Psychological Service, my Department has now approved an allocation of 3.5 hours per week resource teacher support and the provision of a full time special needs assistant for the pupil in question. The school authorities have been notified of this decision. Mr. Ring Mr. Ring 1683 285. Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Education and Science when a person will be appointed to provide a person (details supplied) in County [1683] Mayo with four resource teaching hours. [22231/03] Mr. N. Dempsey Mr. N. Dempsey Minister for Education and Science (Mr. N. Dempsey): An application for additional resource teacher support has been received in respect of the student in question. All such applications are referred to the National Educational Psychological Service for consideration and recommendation as to the nature and level of special support required in each case. A recommendation in the case in question has now been received and my Department will be in contact with the school authorities in relation to this matter very shortly.
