  904. Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children the funding received by the Western Health Board in 2002; if the board came within its budget limit; and the money it saved in 2002 in relation to the funding it was allocated. [20263/03]

  Minister for Health and Children (Mr. Martin): The final determination agreed for the Western Health Board for 2002 was €680.447 million, which represents an increase of €33.683 million over the original determination. According to its annual financial statements, the Western Health Board had an expenditure outturn of €672.234 million, giving a surplus of €8.213 million. This carried forward surplus is available for service provision in 2003.
