  306. Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a REP scheme appeal by a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will be finalised. [20057/03]

  Minister for Agriculture and Food (Mr. Walsh): The appeal by the person named against a REPS penalty was examined by the REPS appeals committee. The committee decided that the penalty had been correctly applied and that it should remain in place. The person named has been informed of the decision.

  The appeals committee is independent and its decisions represent my Department's final position on any penalty case.
