226. Mr. Wall asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the conditions applicable to the disposal of asbestos items; if, where such items are situated in housing estates, these grants are available for the safe removal of such asbestos items; if grants are available under his Department or local authority initiatives for the removal of such items, particularly where a person seeking to have the items removed has no means financially of having the dangerous substance removed; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
