Mr. O'Donoghue Mr. O'Donoghue
Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism (Mr. O'Donoghue): Following the establishment of my Department on 18 June 2002, a sum of €265,867 was spent in 2002 on public relations, marketing and advertising, of which €175,308, 66%, related to the cultural institutions in respect of the promotion of their programmes and activities.
My Department has systems in place to ensure that the best value for money is secured for such expenditures and, in keeping with good practice, these systems are kept under continuous review.
