  148. Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Finance the extent to which tax revenues in 2003 to date compare favourably or otherwise with the relevant period in 2001 and 2002; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14960/03]

  Minister for Finance (Mr. McCreevy): Exchequer tax receipts to the end of April 2003 amounted to some €8,462 million. These receipts were 5.6% higher than those for the same period in 2002. Exchequer tax receipts to the end of April 2002 amounted to some €8,015 million. These receipts were 1.8% less than those obtained in the same period in 2001.
