261. Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the number of houses provided by the various local authorities in County Kildare in each of the past five years; the likely targets in each of the next five years; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [13183/03]

Ahern): Information on the number of houses completed by the three local authorities in County Kildare for each of the past five years under the local authority housing construction/acquisition programme is set out in the table under:

Local authorities are currently implementing their housing construction programmes on the basis of a multi-annual programme over the period 2000-03. The extent of continuing programmes for the period 2004-06 have not yet been determined in respect of local authorities generally.
