  248. Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources the number of applications received for the marine tourism grant scheme under the National Development Plan 2000-2006 in response to advertisements placed in 2002; the number of applications received for feasibility studies; the number of schemes approved for funding; the number of projects allocated funding; the location of approved or funded projects; and if he will give [639] details of the flagship projects for which funding is provided in 2003.   Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources (Mr. D. Ahern): Following a call for applications under the marine tourism grant scheme in February, 2002, 61 applications were received. Of these, 19 applications were for feasibility studies and eight applications were found eligible to go forward to the assessment phase. However, the assessment phase has not been completed. None of the applications under the scheme has received any funding.

  In addition to the marine tourism grant scheme, an allocation was provided in the 2000 budget for four flagship projects for marine access infrastructure. These projects and their grant allocations are as follows:
