Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason the rural world premium payment made to a person (details supplied) in County Mayo was reduced by €700; the reason this person only received a part-payment when they were expecting €700 more; and the reason the reduction was made. Minister for Agriculture and Food (Mr. Walsh): Payment of the 2002 ewe premium was made on 16 October, but payment of the rural world element – now known as the supplementary premium – of the 2002 ewe premium was delayed pending final processing of the 2002 area aid details. This processing has now been completed and payment of the supplementary premium will be issued shortly.
