42. Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the moneys which have been allocated for the provision of closed circuit television systems in 2002; the projected [1155] figure for 2003; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [18480/02]

Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform (Mr. McDowell): A sum of €4.966 million has been allocated in the 2002 Estimates towards the installation of CCTV systems in approved areas. The allocation for 2003 has not yet been finalised.
