79. Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the reason a person (details supplied) in County Mayo was not accepted into the REP scheme. [12312/02]

Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development (Mr. Walsh): The person named has been in REPS since 1 September 2001 and has received full payment for his first year in the scheme on the eligible area of his holding. A large proportion of his holding, consisting of commonage land, is not eligible for payment under the REPS specifications.
