Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children when a consultant respiratory physician will be appointed to Mayo General Hospital in view of the fact that funding was approved for same; when the Western Health Board will advertise this position; when this position will be filled; if the Western Health Board advertised this position; and if so, when.   Minister for Health and Children (Mr. Martin): The documentation relating to this appointment is currently being processed by my Department and will be forwarded to the Western Health Board as soon as possible. The Western Health Board can then forward the relevant documentation to the Local Appointments Commission. The commission will then advertise this post, conduct interviews, and recommend a candidate to fill the post.
