Mr. Ring asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if a person who was born outside of this country but has become an Irish citizen through marriage and carries an Irish passport is allowed to vote in a referendum; and if such a person can vote in a general election. [8802/02]

  Minister for the Environment and Local Government (Mr. Dempsey): Irish citizens may vote at all elections and at referendums provided they are registered in the register of electors.
