Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will investigate the reason the Western Health Board has not applied to the VHI to provide benefit in respect of MRI scans carried out at the University College Hospital, Galway, so that VHI members can avail of the benefit. [1244]   Minister for Health and Children (Mr. Martin): The provision of services at University College Hospital, Galway, is the responsibility of the Western Health Board. My Department has asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate this matter and reply to the Deputy directly.
