  243. Mr. G. Reynolds asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development if his Department will provide funding through the CLÁR programme for the proposed projects (details supplied) in counties Sligo and Leitrim. [9091/02]

  Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development (Mr. Walsh): CLÁR expenditure will reflect the priorities identified in the selected areas. The priorities are being dealt with in three modules and there has been a roll-out of funding packages agreed under module 1, roads, water, sewerage, village and town renewal, in the last few months.

  There are ongoing discussions with other Departments and State agencies on programmes under module 2, industry, enterprise and tourism and module 3, health, education and community. However, no decision will be made on categories of projects to be funded under CLÁR without the prior approval of the mainline Department or Departments. It is hoped to make announcements on the roll-out of further programmes in the next few weeks.
