  207. Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development if he will reconsider a penalty in respect of a special beef premium application by a person (details [1148] supplied) in County Cork; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [8437/02]

  Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development (Mr. Walsh): The penalty in question related to the rejection of a female animal listed on the December 2001 special beef premium application of the person named. Following an appeal the penalty was revoked due to the fact that the error was brought to the Department's attention by the person named. A letter dated 5 March 2002 issued to the person named informing him of this decision. Advance payment will issue in March 2002 subject to compliance with the terms and conditions of the scheme.

  Advance payment under the slaughter premium scheme 2001, to the amount of €2,120.00 issued to the person named in respect of 50 animals.
