Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will ascertain the Western Health Board's plans regarding the lack of a speech and language therapist in the north-west region of County Mayo; when a therapist will be allocated to the area; and the number of adults and children who need this service in the north west region. [5311/02] Mr. Martin Mr. Martin Minister for Health and Children (Mr. Martin): The provision of health related services, including speech and language therapy, to people with physical and sensory disabilities is a matter for the Eastern Regional Health Authority and the health boards in the first instance. As requested, a copy of the Deputy's question has been referred to the chief executive officer of the Western Health Board with a request that she examine the matter and reply directly to the Deputy, as a matter of urgency.
