427. Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Education and Science his plans to hold a sworn inquiry into alleged irregularities at Limerick Institute of Technology. [31830/01]

[790] Minister for Education and Science (Dr. Woods): In accordance with a proposal adopted by the governing body of Limerick Institute of Technology at its meeting held on 20 November 2001, the director of the institute has written to me to formally request, on behalf of the governing body, that I establish a sworn inquiry into matters concerning breaches of integrity of examinations in the institute. I am considering the matter and will respond to the institute in due course.
