214. Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children if an application for a motorised transport grant for a person (details supplied) in County Carlow will be expedited; and the reason for the delay in this case. [29655/01]

Minister for Health and Children (Mr. Martin): Responsibility for assessment of entitlement to and payment of the motorised transport grant in any individual case rests with the relevant health board. My Department has therefore asked the chief executive officer of the South Eastern Health Board to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and reply to him directly.
